The Steel Construction and Erection Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) outlines the main hazards and risks associated with the erection of steel-framed buildings and structures not classified as a construction project, including the operation of cranes and mobile plant, risk of falls of persons and objects, hazardous manual tasks, traffic hazards, use of power tools, chemical hazards, and work in outdoor conditions. The SWMS provides details of the health and safety precautions (including protective clothing and PPE) required for safe erection of steel buildings and structures.
