The Suspended Ceilings Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) outlines the main hazards and risks associated with the installation and maintenance of suspended ceilings in office, commercial and similar environments, including risks of falls, hazardous manual tasks, use of chemicals, operation of tools and equipment, and plant and traffic. The SWMS provides details of the health and safety precautions (including protective equipment) required when installing or maintaining suspended ceilings. (Note: Due to significant variations in Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) requirements between states and territories, reference to regulations, codes of practice and guidance material in each jurisdiction is recommended.) (See SWMS0437 – Silica – Respirable Crystalline (RCS)).
